It was founded in 2002 by entrepreneur Elon Musk with the goal of reducing space transportation costs and enabling the colonization of Mars. SpaceX operates from many pads, on the East Coast of the US they operate from SLC-40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station and historic LC-39A at Kennedy Space Center. They also operate from SLC-4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, usually for polar launches. Another launch site is being developed at Boca Chica, Texas.
Wondering where it’s launching from – Vandenberg or Florida? Has conflicting information here right now.
Florida as it states above.
Great, thanks. The front page ( list of missions) still says Vandenberg.
Correction, it looks like a CA launch.
You cannot launch to sun-sync orbit (flying North or South) from Florida, so it is has to be CA site.
Looks like Vandenberg
It lists 4E as the launch site.
I live in Santa Barbara,So I should be able to see it.
Vandenberg as it states above! On Friday 11:20 A.M/
it is VANDENBERG ! You know like the famous 80s band!
It is a wonderful, clear day for the launch, visibility will be very good.
Decent time of day too.
