Heard that NASA is planning to have the IISS to reenter earth and burn up.
Is there not a way to boost the speed or altitude to maintain orbit? After all the moon can do it for millions of years .

It is a planned retirement of the IIS and not that the can’t keep it in orbit. Private managed space stations will replace the ISS.
