ASTRA 5B will extend transponder capacity and geographical reach over Eastern European and neighbouring markets for DTH, direct-to- cable and contribution feeds to digital terrestrial television networks. Astra 5B & Amazonas 4A

Astra 5B is a communications satellite owned and operated by SES. Fitted with Ku-, Ka- and L-band transponders, it provides services for Eastern European regions. Amazonas 4A is spanish communications satellite, which carries a payload of 24 Ku-band transponders with coverage of South America, from Venezuela and Colombia in the north, to Argentina and Chile in the south. Satellite performance is expected to be 46 to 48.5 dBW throughout the South American mainland.
