China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation was scheduled to launch a Long March 2F/G rocket as part of the Tiangong-2 mission. The launch window for the Human Exploration mission was on Thu, Sep 15th, 2016, 10:04 AM EDT from Launch Area 4 (SLS-1 / 921), Jiuquan. The status of the launch was Success. China's second space station, Tiangong-2 is tasked to verify key technologies such as cargo transportation, on-orbit propellant resupply, and a medium-term stay of astronauts. It will also carry an array of scientific experiments, and will be equipped with a robotic arm to help the assembly and maintenance of the station.
